BioChek, a worldwide leader in veterinary diagnostics, is pleased to announce that their poultry ELISA Mycoplasma kits have been approved by the USDA for use with turkey samples. The Mycoplasma gallisepticum-synoviae combined Antibody test kit (Mg/Ms) along with the single assay format Mycoplasma synoviae (Ms) and Mycoplasma gallisepticum (Mg) Antibody test kits are now all available for use with chickens and turkeys.

► Mycoplasma gallisepticum – synoviae Combined Antibody test kit, solid plate format

The Mycoplasma gallisepticum – synoviae Combined Antibody test kit is a complete set of reagents which allows for the detection of antibodies against Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae. The test will determine the presence of antibodies in the serum of chickens or turkeys.

BioChek Mycoplasma assays

The BioChek Mg/Ms and Ms test kits detect Mycoplasma synoviae as early as the Rapid Plate Agglutination (RPA) test. In addition, prior studies have shown that the specificity of the recombinant based BioChek test kits offer a high degree of sensitivity and specificity in comparison with other commercial ELISA’s as well as HI and RPA.

The BioChek Mycoplasma ELISA assays will detect antibodies at 7 to 10 days post-infection. This means that the assays can be used to detect flocks undergoing a Mycoplasma field challenge much quicker and reducing the potential for further spread. With the use of the BioChek interpretation guide, the success of vaccination can also be easily accessed in flocks which are vaccinated.

The ELISA Mycoplasma kits from BioChek can be utilized on a variety of ELISA readers that also interface with BioChek’s industry leading production animal software. The Mycoplasma test data can be accessed 24/7 from a PC, laptop, and smart phone or through the use of the BioChek Smart Cloud Data Management Service.
