BioChek UK manufactures ELISA and qPCR kits for the poultry and swine markets. With a portfolio of over 50 products and growing demand they are expanding their manufacturing department. As well as staff, £400,000 is being invested to equip the lab in order to meet 2018 targets.
Working from the Ascot UK office, BioChek seek a talented supervisor for their plate coating and bulk reagent operation. Reporting to the Technical Production Manager, this hands-on role will lead a team of 2-3 technicians in the annual coating of 200,000 microtitre plates and manufacture of over 20,000 litres of buffers/reagents. This is a high paced role and the successful candidate will be committed to achieving targets and maintaining standards, while working with flexibility.
Job duties and responsibilities include:
- Supervision of technicians
- Completing all manufacture to required schedule, including plates, buffers and reagents
- Maintaining the lab and equipment to operational standards
- Water system management
- Stock control
- Contributing to process improvement and future upscale
- Upholding cross-departmental collaborations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject desirable

Technical Skills and Experiences:
Essential
- Large scale coating and processing of microtitre plates
- Buffer manufacture and reagent preparation

- Equipment Implementation and troubleshooting
- Working within a GMP/GLP framework
Desirable
- Experience using Medicon Optima or Moduline systems
Salary and Benefits:
- £28-35k, with conditional pension and bonus scheme
