Leadership Transition Announcement

Jochen Hirsch
Jochen Hirsch appointed as CEO of BioChek

We are pleased to announce that Jochen Hirsch will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BioChek B.V., effective July 1, 2025, marking the beginning of our new financial year.

Jochen succeeds Barend van Dam, who will continue to serve as a Member of the Board and contribute as a consultant to the company.

Throughout his tenure and return, Barend has played a pivotal role in strengthening BioChek’s position in animal health diagnostics. We are deeply grateful for his continued guidance and strategic insight.

Since joining BioChek as Chief Commercial Officer in January 2025, Jochen has worked closely with Barend and the leadership team to ensure a smooth transition.

Proven global leadership in diagnostics

Jochen brings a strong international leadership background, including:

  • Former Board Member at R-Biopharm AG, a global family-owned diagnostics company
  • Led the Food Safety business and oversaw operations across 30 legal entities worldwide
  • Extensive experience across the US, China, Europe, and Latin America

Jochen has already assumed full commercial responsibilities, and the remaining leadership areas will transition to him over the coming weeks.

“I’m excited to continue supporting BioChek as a Board member, and I look forward to collaborating with Jochen in his new role.”

Barend van Dam.

“I would like to thank the team and specifically Barend for the very warm welcome and professional introduction”,

Jochen Hirsch:

“I am thrilled to work with a very experienced and talented team and continue the success story together with our customers worldwide.”

Looking ahead

With a seamless leadership transition in place, BioChek remains focused on:

  • Growth and innovation
  • Strengthening global customer partnerships
  • Delivering continued success in diagnostics

We are confident that BioChek is well-positioned to thrive under Jochen’s leadership.
